In the nineties, there was usability. Then we started to hear of user experience design, which was before Web 2.0.

We should now be talking about group experience design.

Yet, is Facebook as good as it gets? Or — perhaps like the world’s great cities — the social web is not to be designed, but will organically evolve?

Not when it comes to the web for group collaboration. As far as that type of user experience is concerned, I believe we are stuck in the nineties.
